Kalista is a contemporary artist based in the UK whose work is a captivating homage to Persian rug making. Drawing inspiration from the intricate patterns and vibrant colors of Persian rugs, Kalista meticulously crafts each piece with great care, often spending weeks and pouring over 150 hours into a single creation.

She started to develop her artistic style after exploring traditional rug making techniques by making a loom and learning weaving. Kalista put her rug making endeavours on hold due to unforeseen circumstances. However, after becoming mesmerised by the intricate details and craftsmanship, she realised she wanted to start making artworks again in the form of painting.
